I am Charlotte Hillier, Parent Support Advisor (PSA) for Damers First School. 

 

Part of my role here at Damers is to further support the communication between home, school and other services.  We recognise that you know your children best and we welcome the opportunity to  work in true partnership with you to achieve the best possible outcomes for your children.  

 

We understand that many children and families experience difficult times which can make a happy, successful school and home life a struggle.

 

The emotional welfare of our pupils is of greatest importance and having a dedicated Parent Support Advisor enables these issues to be given the time and care needed to be sensitively and compassionately worked through together.

 

I can support parents/carers with a variety of issues relating to their child/ren such as establishing routines, boundaries, behaviour and attendance. I can also refer and signpost to other services available.

 

I am also here to support families who are going through difficult times including relationship breakdown, bereavement, mental well-being and financial hardship.

It is important to us that no one feels alone on this journey, we are here to support you. Each family’s needs are unique. Together we can work to identify and overcome any barriers to ensure each child is given the best possible start in life. We are not here to judge, we are here to support.

 

If you have any worries or concerns regarding your child's education, behaviour or wellbeing please speak with your class teacher in the first instance. They will be able to provide your child with support in class, they can then pass this information onto me so I can work with and support you and work out a plan of how to best support your child. 

 

I will be on the school gates each morning and after school so please do come and say hello.
